I recently switched from OpenHAB to HomeAssistant. Setup was pretty easy. You do need to also setup OmniLinkBridge as the broker for the MQTT messages between the OmniPro/Omni IIe and HomeAssistant.
@pete_c OLB=OmniLinkBridge. My OpenHAB system was becoming unstable and it was always a pain to manually maintain the OPII interface and my mobile control screen layouts. I either needed to install a new clean OpenHAB system using their latest version or give Home Assistant a try. Either way...
Long time OmniPro user here. I just made the switch from OpenHAB to Home Assistant with OmniLinkBridge. I was blown away with how easy the setup of the combination of HA & OLB was. 238 entities discovered from my OPII and published in HA automatically. Gotta love it! Thank you!
I run all my SA and Pulseworx switches in HLC mode. It's just a matter of setting up the correct links. Pretty sure that is all the PCS UPStart program is doing to support other switches for HLC (I do not believe there is any firmware change involved).
I also have some 3 ways setup the way you describe. There is no traveler used in that setup and as you said, you just cap off the load wire. In this way, the switch is really just a scene activator.
I have several 3-way circuits with UPB switches and I've never had this happen. To see if it is limited to just that single switch, can you swap the switch with another one?
10 - 15 seconds is way too long and means you have an issue somewhere. Are the delays when you press a UPB switch button and have a scene activated or are they when the Omni sends a command? Are you using a software front-end to the Omni?
If scene activation is taking that long from a...
If you can do some programming, you could create a "gateway translator" to fully incorporate the WiFi switches. I did this with my Jandy pool system into the OmniPro. Basically an external "black box" translator attached between the HAI OPII and the Jandy Aqualink.
Since I use UPB for all...
