    Elk M1 Newb - Still

You were spot on! I had to, in my reconfiguration, renumber my zones and with that, I had some issues. I checked the automation which was the wrong zone which is missing. I think I am fixed up now. Thanks for the excellent help!

    Elk M1 Newb - Still

I type my code but they persist. Is there a place I have to type the user code? If I type the user code in the "regular" area I think it will try to arm the alarm? I've pressed * a BUNCH and they still remain :(

    Elk M1 Newb - Still

Hey guys I am still wrapping my head around how to use this Elk M1. I swear the Omnipro was more intuitive and perhaps it was just using it for longer but I have multiple notices on my keypads I can't get to go away. When I look at the display is scrolls through a couple of messages and I have...

Elk M1 2 way Mini Window Sensor Battery Change

So I called Elk and got a lot of help. I had the wireless receiver on id 2 and the expander input board on id 2 as well. They can't be on the same ID like keypads can. Also, I was told that I can't have the wireless device connected to the bus it needs to be connected to the databus hub.

    State of the UPB market?

You can get Martin Jerry Wifi switches on amazon with Tasmota and they're cheap and effective. Tasmota lets you use switches in a 3 or 4 way like setting with device groups. Trust me when you look it over and try it out you will never look back. They are about $20.

Elk M1 2 way Mini Window Sensor Battery Change

I have another sensor that is quicker. So that doesn't help the data theory. Maybe the expansion board is bad? not sure what to check next.

yes I don't believe in coincidences but I don't know what's going on in my system. I believe I have all the jumpers properly set now with assistance since I am still new at the Elk stuff.

Elk M1 2 way Mini Window Sensor Battery Change

Hey guys - my wireless sensor felt really slow. So I went to change the battery and in the process, there was a clip that friction fits on the board to get to the other side of the battery. I think it is friction fit - if not mine is defective but I can't for the life of me figure out HOW to...

GRI2600 in a series on an Elk M1

Ok I worked with Steve Hoh and he helped me with the total mess I had. Basically nothing was configured properly on my data bus. I HOPE this fixes the problem - only time will tell! I didn't have Jp3 enabled on the M1, I didn't have the Data Hub configured properly with jumpers nor did I have...

GRI2600 in a series on an Elk M1

Hi! Thanks for the reply! There is nothing but GRI2600's on this board. Nothing else. They are defined as NC zones and show a status of short normally. I am powering the sensors from an Altronix power supply and I don't suspect it is an issue since there are 5 more sensors on there that work...

GRI2600 in a series on an Elk M1

Hey guys, been a while! I have moved to the Elk M1 Gold for my new to me home. I installed some GRI2600's in some bathrooms I remodeled. I have 2 GRI2600 (NC) in my one bathroom in a series. It seems to work fine 99% of the time. The sensors are wired back to an expansion module connected...

    Central Monitoring

I didn't love Alarm Relay when I moved my old home to it from NextAlarm.  They required a full year, and they tried to sell me their device which I declined with some effort.  Also subsequent years are more expensive than the first?  I didn't love their business tactics.  I will check...
