First, yes, this is a post from 18 years ago, but for anyone reading...
First, you need to plan out your installation, determine how many mist nozzles and that will size your pump. Then you buy the right size pump. The variable speed ones are two the price and aren't needed. Buy a pulley pump, not direct drive, its much quieter.

Now, having said all that, realize misters are not all butterflies and rainbows. I live in AZ and maybe can use it 2-3 month out of the year. If its humid, it doesn't work well. But even worse, when its very hot here, and dry, it is very often windy, which blows the mist away. So even in AZ, they can be limited many times.
