I too have regular Somfy motor failures. For such a pricing and high end option, they are not reliable at all. Has anyone found a better option? Somfy has not been any help, and unwilling to provide firmware files or parts for the motors.
Funny enough, I just ran into this same issue - the file I had is 0bytes. I was able to find a valid file on one of my older computers. I went to upload it to the resources page but it looks like it only supports executable files and not firmware type files. Anyone know how to upload non -.exe...
Ok, so I am not crazy. Sounds like the location of the code changes depending on SW version and board PN. I would have guessed a more consistent approach.
I was not ever able to find the master code using this method. Has anyone else been successful in reading it from the EEPROM?
As far as I am aware, the only options now that Leviton does not offer the service is the PC access route mentioned by pete_c or to brute force the code.
You should be able to stack 2-3 boards in the can. You can also mount the Email Notifier on the left side if you like. Just use two sets of standoffs to clear the serial ports if you have something plugged in.
Agreed- Hate the cloud stuff. I'm trying to make time to start reversing some of this old hardware so we can keep it going and / or improve on it as I dont want a home full of alexas and whatnot.
I did receive a response from Chris at Leviton today: "Brad, It was custom made for the Hi-fi2."...
Chris from Leviton replied:
"Thanks for contacting Leviton Technical Services! Unfortunately, this product is no longer manufactured. There are no replacements, and it can no longer be repaired."
I asked about part number info for the LCD, but no reply. Typically when I have asked a question...
It looks like the last time was June of 21', done thru normal channels on their website. I just put in a request for another 4 of my VSCs that have failed. I'll update this thread if they respond.
Without a part number or some other identifying info, I am not sure how to find replacement LCDs...
Leviton was offering to repair the VSCs by replacing the displays in the VSCs for $30 each. Not sure that they are still offering that service. It's a common issue. I took thought it was a issue of the screen not connecting to the PCB, but I did not have any luck cleaning the contacts. If...
Me too. I asked Leviton for the info now that they were discontinued and no response (as expected).
Am I missing any other devices that used this bus? Were there any aftermarket items that used it?
